On a cool bright night a group of members of the Campbelltown and Rouse Hill Chapters met at Joy's house to hold the Annual Candle Lighting Ceremony.
Originating in the US, this ceremony has TCF members from around the world lighting a candle for their loved one at 7pm on the 2nd Sunday in December. As the time moves around the globe, a wave of light is created.
At Campbelltown, the evening began with a huge feast – it's bring a plate – and friendly chatter. Mementos of our children were placed on a table, and as part of the evening, people were invited to talk about their child. As the sun went down, music was played – and at 7 pm we all lit our candles, which were to burn for an hour.
The evening was sad and happy, meaningful words and friendly chatter.
Thank to Joy and the Campbelltown members for joining in with the world in this special event.
